Acceptable Materials
- Electronics – Most Electronics, TVs, computer monitors, towers, tablets, laptops and cellular phones
- Metal – Tin and Aluminum only. All other metals go to the transfer station
- Glass – Clean bottles and jars
- Paper – Cardboard, Mixed paper, Newspaper
- Tires – We accept them at both Coupeville and Freeland locations for $6.00
- Plastics – #1s and 2’s only *3-5’s are considered trash for now
- Now accepting clothes, donations for the blind 2 blue containers, Bagged please
Prohibited Materials
- We DO NOT accept construction demo at this time. Permits are currently under review
- Metal – Other than Tin or Aluminum, All metals go to the Island County transfer station, at Coupeville only. Freeland accepts all metal
- Cars – We don’t accept cars in Coupeville
- Refrigerators, Freezers, A/C Units
- Liquids, items containing liquid and saturated material
- Gas-filled containers (e.g., propane)
- Household garbage
- Commercial garbage
- Hazardous materials or anything containing hazardous materials. We do not accept any materials that are regulated by state or federal environmental or hazardous substance laws
- Biomedical waste
- Asbestos or materials that are suspected of containing asbestos
- Styrofoam – NOT collected in Coupeville. Please take your Styrofoam to our Freeland facility
- Lead paint
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Burned materials
- Telephone poles and railroad ties
- Mattresses – NOT collected in Coupeville, Please take your Mattresses and box springs to Freeland. There is a charge of $35 per
- Any other materials that present a risk to our employees, our equipment or our facility, as determined by the Site Supervisor in his or her sole discretion
