Scrappers

Scrappers work in 2-3 person crews, drive to all new residential or commercial work sites (may work at one site or multiple sites in one shift), pick up drywall scrap, clean debris, load truck with drywall scrap/debris, tack down floor paper after drywall scrap/debris is removed, deliver drywall scraps/debris to company recycling sites (one at same location as truck yard), return truck to yard at end of the shift, attend monthly safety meeting and bi-weekly safety status check. Sorter

Sorters are responsible for visually inspecting materials on the conveyor belt. The Sorter will obtain two assigned materials (sheetrock, cardboard, electrical wiring, aluminum, wood, plastic, metal or precious metals) and place these items into their designated recycling slides. The recycling slides allow the commodity to fall below the conveyor belt into assigned recycling bins. Scale House Attendant

Scale House Attendants are responsible for weighing hauling companies in and out of our recycling facilities. They will keep track of their loads and what materials they bring. They will occasionally answer phones, stay in constant contact with customers, keep inventory of snacks and drinks that are provided to customers, as well as keep the scale house clean. Roll-Off Drivers

Roll-Off Drivers are responsible for safely operating our brand new roll-off trucks and containers. Drivers travel to various job sites to pick up and drop off containers, log/track loads in our system with provided smart phones and tablets, keep accurate records of loads each day, and complete vehicle inspection reports. Heavy Equipment Operators

Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for performing safety and maintenance inspections before each shift, loading the belt and trailers with material, maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the yard, maintaining the movement of material in the yard, and reporting any safety or maintenance issues with machine. Mechanic (Day and Night Shifts Available)

Job Purpose:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain all equipment, trucks, and trailers

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the company’s safety standards.
  • Heavy truck and Equipment repair for commercial fleet operations, diesel engines, air brakes, and electronics.
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose varying equipment issues, failures on tractors, Equipment and trailers.
  • Communicate with the Managers through verbal and written methods to assure repairs are completed correctly.
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety
  • Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment.
    Maintain work area appearance and safety
  • Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
  • Adjust and replace brake, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
  • Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
  • Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
  • Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmissions and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components etc.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Report root cause of damaged equipment.

Physical requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.

Lube Technician (Day and Night Shifts Available)

We are looking to hire a Lube Technician to perform oil changes, lube, and light maintenance work.

Job responsibilities include routine service on trucks and equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing filters and greasing all necessary components. Prepare and maintain accurate records on all services performed. Provide a high level of quality control standards, and reliability, ensuring equipment readiness. Have the ability to recognize potential problems or damage, and relay information to the appropriate supervisor. Basic knowledge of truck and equipment functionality is required. Potential candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work alone. This position requires the ability to be available for emergencies and overtime. Must have good driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work outside despite inclement weather
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed
  • Experience in Skid Steer, Excavators, Wheel Loader and Wood Grinder a plus

CDL Truck Driver (Day, Night, and Weekend Shifts Available)

Seeking Experienced Class A CDL Drivers for Pierce, and King County! 

What we are looking for:

  • Strong work ethic and attendance

  • Ability to adhere to company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the company’s safety standards; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.
  • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals.
  • Be able to communicate with co-workers and/or customers and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

 Physical Requirements:

The main physical requirements include good hearing, at least 20/40 vision with glasses or corrective lenses, and a 70-degree field of vision in each eye. Drivers cannot be colorblind. Truck drivers must have a strong sense of spatial relations to park their vehicles and negotiate tight spaces.

Other Requirements: 

  • Safe and reliable.
  • Minimum of two years Class A CDL experience.
  • Current DOT Medical.
  • Be physically able to climb a ladder occasionally.
  • Be physically able to open manual tarp systems using upper body strength.
  • Also, a driver must not have been convicted of a felony involving the use of a motor vehicle, a crime using drugs, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or hit-and-run driving that resulted in injury or death.
  • All drivers must be able to read and speak English well enough to read road signs, prepare reports, and communicate with law enforcement officers and the public.
  • All drivers must comply with Federal and WA state regulations.

Recycling Sorter

Days and Night Shifts Available at the following locations:

  • Tacoma
  • Renton
  • Seattle
  • Woodinville
  • Maltby

Responsibilities:

  • Sort and segregate wood, metal, cardboard, drywall, concrete, and plastic from recyclable construction waste.
  • Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate bin.
  • Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items.
  • Perform general clean-up in all operational areas of work-site maintaining neat and clean work area.
  • General labor work as assigned.
  • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste; remove unacceptable items as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand entire shift and be willing to work outside despite inclement weather.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Regularly bends, twists, and lifts customers’ commodities.

Weighmaster

Position Objective: Manage the movement of materials/products in and out of the facility; ensures quality customer service, and provides administrative support for site supervisors and managers

Responsibilities:

  • Direct trucks to scale and record full and empty weights
  • Calculate and collect fees and record charges
  • Compile/record inbound and outbound material weights by category
  • Perform data entry of commodities on loads brought in by trucks; record material weight by category
  • Inspect and ensure validity of loads
  • Perform varied office tasks as needed
  • Maintain a clean and orderly scale house
  • Inventory and order placement for scale house supplies
  • May be required to operate site equipment
  • May be required to calculate payment to customers for recycled materials

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year of related experience in office or public contact work
  • For positions required to operate loaders or other small equipment, experience in operation and maintenance of similar equipment
  • For positions which will operate loaders or other small equipment, commercial driver’s license is preferred

Knowledge:

  • Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations
  • Basic computer programs as well as simple math calculations
  • Common procedures and general Company operations, following established methods and standing instructions

Skills and / or Ability to:

  • Promote the Zero Waste philosophy by making the best and highest use of all resources
  • Work under pressure, handle stressful situations and maintain flexibility
  • Maintain high levels of activity or productivity; operating with effectiveness, and determination over extended periods of time
  • Understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
