Prohibited Materials


Asbestos or materials suspected of containing asbestos
Batteries
Biomedical waste
Black plastic garbage bags filled with debris (not opened for safety reasons)
Burned materials
Commercial garbage
Fluorescent light bulbs
Gas-filled containers (e.g. propane)
Hazardous materials or anything containing hazardous materials
Household garbage
Lead paint
Liquids, items containing liquid and saturated material
Materials that present a risk to our employees, equipment or facilities are recycled only at the discretion of the Site Supervisor
Non-recyclable materials are more than 10% of load weight
Plate glass and windows
Regulated materials that are regulated by state or federal environmental or hazardous substance laws
Treated or painted wood
Utility or telephone poles

Accepted Materials



Appliances including stoves, ovens, vent hoods, sinks, garbage disposals, washers, dryers and dishwashers. Refrigerators, freezers and A/C units may be accepted with an extra decommissioning fee.
Cardboard and paper
Concrete, asphalt, rock, masonry, brick, ceramics
Drywall
Mattresses
Metals (all scrap metals, coated wire, extension cords etc.)
Plastics (hard + soft)
Styrofoam and polyurethane foam
Tires
Wood (no painted, old, rotted, molded, treated or creosote wood is accepted. Longer lengths and larger dimensional pieces may be accepted for salvage/ reuse. Call recycling center to confirm prior to sending.) Railroad ties not accepted.
